UNITED SPANISH TIMBRADO FANCIERS SPECIAL INTEREST SUBGROUPS

USTF encourages groups of members who share common interests to communicate with one another on these interests and to promote them as appropriate.  Some of the possible subjects a Special Interest Subgroup might be built around are the various song styles found in timbrados, the promotion of local contests or other timbrado events, the discussion of breeding or rearing information, etc.  If you have an idea for an interest subgroup, please contact Sebastian to have it considered for inclusion on this page (please provide your weblink or contact information to be included in the entry).  sebastian.vallelunga@shcp.edu

1.  The DISCONTINUO SUBGROUP is dedicated to information sharing on, and the promotion of, the discontinuous Spanish song canary.  Flourishes (floreos) and composed or conjoined tours(compuestas or conjuntas) indicate the most important parts of a discontinuous canary's song.  The group started by looking at various things such as the importation of birds from Spain, the use of a new FECC score sheet developed with discontinuous birds in mind and the extension of USTF contests to include some new ones which will specialize in discontinuous birds, etc.  Temporary Subgroup Moderator:  Sebastian Vallelunga (if you are interested in becoming the permanent moderator of this group, please contact Sebastian).

2.  The CLASICO  SUBGROUP is dedicated to information sharing on, and the promotion of, the continuos or classic timbrado Spanish song canary.  The name indicates that the continuous canary's song was the first one approved for contests in Spain although it was not necessarily the first developed.  The group will explore ways to preserve the best of the classic voiced timbrados and to promote them at the current contests which will continue to use the COM (FOCDE) score sheet which allows the widest range of good timbrado voices to succeed.  Subgroup Moderator:  Gisela Behgooy

3.  The FLOREADO-INTERMEDIO  SUBGROUP is dedicated to information sharing on, and the promotion of, the intermediate timbrado Spanish song canary.  The name indicates that this canary's song has a few continuous tours while still stressing the semicontinuous and discontinuous tours. The group will explore ways to assure that the best of the intermediate voiced timbrados will continue to thrive and to acknowledge that many timbrados sing in a way that doesn't achieve the black and white extremes of discontinuous and classic song while still being good singers.  They will also promote them at the current contests which will continue to use the COM (FOCDE) score sheet which allows the widest range of good timbrado voices to succeed.   Temporary Subgroup Moderator:  Sebastian Vallelunga (if you are interested in becoming the permanent moderator of this group, please contact Sebastian).
