OUR MISSION
is to unite all who love and breed these remarkable birds and to provide a venue for the free exchange of knowledge and ideas, in order to encourage and support Timbradistas everywhere, through a cooperative effort, which encompasses education, mentoring programs, exhibitions and friendly competitions.
Past Training Sessions
The Spanish Timbrado Song Canary comes in a wide range of colors: yellow, green, white, blue, cinnamon, fawn, and variegated, and there are both uncrested and crested versions. However, what sets the timbrado apart is not its looks but its voice. The song of the timbrado must always be bright and somewhat metallic whether it is presented in continuous, discontiuous, or intermediate styles. Continuous voiced birds are sometimes called clasicos; these have many continuous rolls in their songs. Discontinuous voiced birds are sometimes called floreados; these have no continuous rolls in their songs and are known for their complex floreos or flourishes. Intermediate voiced birds are in between the other two in song style and are usually called intermedios; however, if they have some complex floreos, the term floreado is also sometimes applied to them.

A Message From Our Founders |
Dear Visitors to the United Spanish Timbrado Fanciers Web Site:
We wish to extend our deepest gratitude to our Founding President,
Mrs. Patricia Last, to acknowledge all of her tireless work and
dedication she provided all of us in the Founding of the United
Spanish Timbrado Fanciers, Inc. While we may have not seen eye
to eye on some issues and were impossible at meeting deadlines,
without her vision and insight, we would not have the foundation
which we continue to build upon today. As humans we can
sometimes lose sight of our vision or let ourselves fall victim to
unnecessary criticism but all that is necessary for us to gain
clarity of our mission is to look back from time to time to the words
she most eloquently penned in her Welcoming Message to be
reminded of the very reasons why we all began upon this Journey.
For these reasons and so many more we will be eternally grateful.
Yours in the Fancy,
Patricia Roberts

“Whether as breeders, striving for excellence in
producing consistently high scoring competitive birds,
or as seekers of the cheerful companion that
brightens our lives with his beautiful song, one thing
is clear: we need a united force, which has only the
best interest of this unique and wonderful variety in
mind. Especially in the United States and the Ameri-
cas, we need a venue for the respectful exchange of
information, new ideas, and the promotion of the
Spanish Timbrado. If we are to grow and thrive, we
must set aside politics and personal issues and put
the Spanish Timbrado Fancy first!”
